Hangover was doing very good in not pulling things too far, making it silly. The muscles in my face hurt after watching that movie.

I'd like to see Hangover. I think stupid movies are tricky though, too many of them just cross the tard line for me. There are classics like Tremors and Slither that really break me up though so the search is worth it :)

There is definitely a fine line between Airplane and Scary Movie.  On the surface they seem similar (lots of sight gags and puns while making fun of a certain genre of films) but the execution is where everything  breaks down so often.

Yeah Hangover wasn't bad.

I watched The Fourth Kind today. It was quite good if you can entertain the theory that its 'real footage' (EYEROLLJACK!!)

I watched Alice In The Caribbean, or was it Edward Wonderhands, or maybe it was Charlie and the Rabbit Hole...

Anyway... I don't think that just because a movie is supposed to be set in a "fantastical" world excuses it from bad acting, horrible makeup, and completely unnecessary CGI.

I left the theater looking for a rabbit hole to throw myself down in the hopes that it would give me the last 2 hours of my life back.

Crib notes: Jack Sparrow = Jack Sparrow; Willy Wonka = Jack Sparrow with candy; Mad Hatter = Jack Sparrow with a lisp.

Dragon Tiger Gate - fantasy action kung-fu movie. Not bad at all.

Bloody Mary - I got a little too adventurous choosing horror flicks and ended up with this. It's a standard issue, mediocre flick based on the urban legend. Nothing noteworthy.

I have a feeling your review is gonna be better than the movie itself.

I didn't see that one so I can't be sure... But based on the trailers that seems about right. Like a cross between Edward Scissorhands and Jack Sparrow. ha

I thought Sweeny Todd would have been brilliant as a regular mystery style thriller without the musical numbers. It is one of those cases that I thought more actual dialog and no singing would have brought it above and beyond.

I mean you had Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Fucking Rickman, Timothy Spall, and Sacha Baron Cohen all in one movie - you could have put that list of talent in one room and had them out act each other for two hours and I would have been giving it a 10 out of 10. The songs really seemed to harm the story and cause the movie to dead-stop instead of complimenting it like musicals normally do. Cut the songs, add an hour of dialog and interesting scenes and it would have been a classic.

Thanks to everyone who recommended The Hurt Locker.  Watched it tonight and I must say it is one of the best films I have seen in a long time.  It's good to see a non-political film about war, based on the men in the war not the war itself.  It may be emotionally taxing for some people but it is a great film.

I have to agree with that opinion. Watched it yesterday at it's pretty awesome.

If Zip.ca doesn't see fit to send The Hurt Locker or the Becoming Human documentary, I might have to splurge and spend 4 bucks to see it!

Mr. Brooks - It was alright but not great. I've seen much better serial killer movies so this one looked lacklustre by comparison.

Watched From Paris With Love and Couple's Retreat last night.

Paris was a fun little action flick, not a great piece of film making by any stretch of the imagination, but a good way to kill an hour and half.

Couples Retreat was hilarious! I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was, but it had me rolling quite a few times.

Let me see....

The Hangover - I had few good laughs

So Close - yet another Chinese action movie. Really good to be honest. I'm starting to like the non-Hollywood productions.

Pineapple Express - With Seth Rogen... you just cannot watch that movie without smoking pot, and I do not smoke it.
