In related news http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/environment/article6936328.ece

SCIENTISTS at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based.

It means that other academics are not able to check basic calculations said to show a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years.

The UEA’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) was forced to reveal the loss following requests for the data under Freedom of Information legislation.

The data were gathered from weather stations around the world and then adjusted to take account of variables in the way they were collected. The revised figures were kept, but the originals — stored on paper and magnetic tape — were dumped to save space when the CRU moved to a new building.

****

In other words, they destroyed all of the collected data and substituted data they basically made up based on what they thought it should be.

I actually think the UK news is the only news that is doing a good job at coving this.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2009/nov/29/ipcc-climate-change-leaked-emails

The last two paragraphs are the best...

Pachauri said he doubted that trust in the IPCC would be damaged by the affair. "People who are aware of how the IPCC functions and are appreciative of the credibility that the IPCC has attained will probably not be swayed by an incident of this kind," he said.

He pointed out that five days after the emails were made public, Barack Obama announced a major commitment to cutting greenhouse gas emissions ahead of the UN climate summit in Copenhagen.

Looks like it.  CNN finally got to reporting it and the article mentioned nothing about what was contained in the leak, and of course they had one small link to the article way below a huge front page article about how a town in Alaska will disappear due to climate change and it is all our fault.

Of course the IPCC is going to say its standing behind the myth that its man made global warming they wrote the reports. Its like the 9/11 comity saying there is nothing wrong with our report. But there is some hope UK and American government seems to be investigating it.

Holy Crap the Danish just leaked out secret draft document from Copenhagen.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2009/dec/08/copenhagen-climate-change

The agreement will give control of climate change finance to the World Bank, while lessening the role of the U.N. in the future climate negotiations.

The draft proposal would also force poorer countries to specific emission cuts, while allowing rich countries to emit about twice as much carbon per person.

(awesome) another hit to a bad treaty.

Only good thing about this is that now all the third world countries are pissed about this and are now less likely to sign the treaty to make it Law you must cut greenhouse gases.

Interesting look at how the data can be proven to have been faked.  In this they show how the raw data is over 2 degrees below the adjusted data.  Of course all we ever usually get to see is their adjusted data showing the world quickly getting to a boiling point.

YES (awesome) Copenhagen came and gone with nothing but a document we “should” and “ought” with nothing specific other that a call for a “binding” agreement sometime in the future.

I the developing nations hate the idea of them having to cut more even tho the developed nations are going to give them tons of the money clean energy. I agree with the developing nations. Instead of giving them money for this clean energy give it to them for their better watter system get ride of the malaria and starvation over there not a fraud science.

I thought this was a good read CLIMATE CHANGE IS NATURAL: 100 REASONS WHY
