Hi all, new/old member her, was DirtFloorPoor, but somehow cannot get logged in or anything, trying to fix that if anyone can help.

To the bigger problem, I hooked up a new printer/fax/scanner etc, went wi fi everything went good, scanned some pics from my military past, all was going well, then i thought well i dont want to fill up my hd with all these pics...have ALOT!! so i decided to sacrifice my external that is/was loaded with porn, thought maybe kids might like that more when i'm a little older, anyways, so i deleted about 80 gigs or so and then had some other things to do, so i ran my systems mechanic 9 and had it do an auto restart when i was done...ok, i come back to my computer , open up to my desktops and i have this error:

Spooler Subsystem App stopped working and was closed.
A problem caused the application to stop working correctly.
Windows will notify you if a solution is available.

Does anyone have any idea what that is all about?? The only thing is some desktop icons were moved around, and when i get the error, it kinda goes to a white screen, i can close it out, and then everything seems to work fine. I am running vista home basic OS.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks DFP

I have no clue about your computer problem, but for your login problems here it's normal as the old forum crashed and the user accounts couldn't be recovered.

My guess would be the something to do with the printer drivers being corrupt try to uninstall and reinstall the printer. Welcome back yeap we are all n00bs now.

ok thanks all, would it even have worked if the install wasnt any good the first round, i did scan about 15 pictures with it and it worked fine?

Vista seems to screw up things alot is it fully updated?

Hi and welcome back!

The spooler app is part of your printing / scanning system. It holds the "jobs" that still need to be processed as usually sending data to the printer is much faster than the physical printing. Anything that still needs to go is stored in the so called "print spool" 

Do you have any other printers installed? It might be that the different drivers interfere or maybe even that some device installed software that overrules the OS printing system and confuses vista.

well another thing strange was i created a folder "military" in my pictures, and the last picture i scanned gave me an error like thier wasnt enough memory or something left, but i still have about 90 gig on my c drive, thats when i think i might have shut it down when it was still sending a picture, and got out my external to start erasing everything and scanning on to my external...i am going to give it a cpl test runs right now...thanks alot, greatly appreciated!!!!!

Well, if you remove your harddrive while the scanner is still sending data there, quite obviously the spool app quits unexpectedly since it got nowhere to write to anymore
